Work Experience
After graduation in Electrical Engineering (1968) worked as a JE in FACT for more than a year joining the IAF as a commissioned officer in 1969. After more than 35 years of service, he retired as an Air Vice Marshal in Jan 05. At the time of retirement, he was the head of the technical and logistics branch of Eastern Air Command. At that time, around 35 Chief Engineers and Chief Logistics officers were reporting to him. Important assignments of the Air Marshal included, amongst others, Chief Engineering Officer of a leading fighter station, Chief Research and Project Officer, Director of Armament at Air HQ and the head of the technical and logistics branches of Eastern and Southern Air Commands. In addition to the maintenance experience of a large number of aircraft, the Air Marshal has vast experience in higher level technical and logistics management, inventory and asset management amounting to crores of rupees, international contract drafting, monitoring of contracts and their implementation, testing, evaluation and procurement of high end technical equipment, large project management and their implementation, and budget monitoring and control; In addition he was also involved with technical skill development, training and other aspects of HRD of large number of personnel. He has traveled widely within and outside India. Presently he is the Chairman of TECHNICHE INTERNATIONAL- an engineering consulting company. He is also the Chairman of the Mediation Council of India.

In the same capacity worked at Chennai, Coimbatore and Cochin branches of the Bank. On elevation, took up the charge of Peruva Mavellor, Alwaye, Ernakulam branches as Branch Manager. Held the post of Asst. Regional Manager, Patna Regional office followed by at their Cochin Regional Office. As Chief Manager, took up the charge of JB Nagar Branch in Mumbai as also at Wellingdon Island Branch in Cochin. Held the post of Regional Manager of Cochin having control on 40 branches, more than 600 staff and a business of over Rs.600 crores.

Held the post of Assistant General Manager, Chennai having control on 50 branches, more than 850 staff and a business mix of more than Rs.1200 Crores.

As Assistant General Manager in charge of the Audit and Inspection Department of Mumbai Audit Zonal office having a branch net work of 160 branches

As in charge, headed the HRD Dept., Zonal Office, Chennai with control of Credit Department, and Computer Department etc. covering 263 branches located in 6 regions with more than 3000 staff spread over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry States. and a business mix of over Rs.12000 crores.

As Commissioned Officer in the Corps of Engineers ,Indian Army from Jan '73 to June '94,has worked in various capacities in different types of civil construction projects all over India. He was in charge of execution of many engineering projects including construction of office/residential buildings, roads, desert tracks etc. In addition, he has considerable experience in modern material and logistics management as well as organizing and conducting training programmes both within and outside the Army. Within the Army, he had organized and trained soldiers, Junior Commissioned Officers as well as officers from the Indian Railways.

After his retirement from the Army he worked as Deputy Director (Academics) of Universal Group of Institutions ,Palakkad Centre, where he was in charge of all academic activities. He also has good experience in conducting classes on different subjects for a number of training institutions specializing in preparing students to appear for different competitive examinations. With his vast experience in managing large inventory and man power, Col Mohan has been conducting training for Group Discussion,Personal Interview and organizing capsules for Personality Development.

The task of the units and sub-units  that he commanded  were the construction of  combat bridges, roads, water supply  establishments, living accommodation for troops and landing ground for helicopters.. Had the extensive opportunity to manage manpower and Engineering equipments under his command.

After voluntary retirement, served as Project Manager in the Army Welfare Housing Organisation and was responsible for complete construction(civil,electrical, and mechanical portions of dwelling units in Multi-stories.

Has also served as staff officer Grade I(Planning),  of Naval Academy Project, Ezhimala, and was responsible for planning and technical scrutiny of technical documents for the construction of the Naval Academy at Ezhimala.

Subsequently served as Additional Chief Engineer in the Zonal Office of Military Engineering Services of the Indian Navy, Kochi. He was responsible for technical planning and management of Civil Engineering Construction works including contract Management of Buildings at Southern Naval Command at Kochi, Goa and Naval Academy, Ezhimala.
